Hello world!

Since 2014, I have been the Director at a childcare center and it has been and continues to be an amazing journey. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to share my crazy stories and lessons learned with you! The childcare center where I serve is a ministry of my church and is careful to maintain a distinctly Christian environment. I believe in Christian education to my very core. While I lean more toward the administrative side of the industry rather than the classroom side, I believe that Christian families need a place for their little ones where they will get a solid academic and Bible foundation and where parents don’t have to worry about what influences their child will be introduced to during the day. But over the years as I have learned how to be a leader in this industry.

My passion is helping leaders grow. In my first few years as a leader, I desperately wished I had a mentor to talk to and get guidance from on the daily struggles and problems I was facing and was ultimately responsible for solving. Since no mentor was to be found, I turned to books and eventually sent myself back to school to learn how to be a better leader. I graduated with a Doctor of Education from Dallas Baptist University with a specialty in educational leadership.

I have collected many crazy stories that beg to be shared and I have learned lessons mostly by trial and error or making mistakes myself and want to share these lessons and stories with you so that you can gain some modicum of insight that might help you avoid the errors I have made. As a Christian educator I understand that learning from someone with a biblical worldview is important. Everything I write, while it may not contain Scriptures will be written from a biblical worldview. If I seem to be preaching at all I will first admit I am a preacher’s daughter and it comes naturally, and sometimes I preach to myself because I need it! Practical application is very important to life in leadership so I will endeavor to always include ideas you can take and use for yourself and reading recommendations in case you want to further pursue the topic in question. Thank you for your time and attention, comments are always welcome. And now, without further ado, I introduce to you the Inner Struggles of a Boss Lady!
